Ceramic City — clay structures confined and conformed to a brick base.

Ceramic City

Ceramic City is an installation of clay structures confined and conformed to a brick base. Like the real city it has no beginning or end, a reconciliation of an undefined but visible landscape, open and spread in sprawling endlessness. House and home, places made and unmade, places repeating, suburbs expanding, buildings built but incomplete, people living and unhoused, ruins inhabited, ruins ruined, history hiding in rubble, history excavated, places past and future, remains of buildings, remains of history, fragments of desire, ambition and failure. Ceramic City is a residue of clay, a reminder of the many lives that make a city.
